Review: Digital Business Clinic at the Culpeper Chamber & Celebrating National Embrace Your GEEKness Day 2015

Celebrating with a Digital Clinic for the Community
Celebrating with a Digital Clinic for the Community

What a wild ride it has been since opening our doors May 1 2015 in the Culpeper office! We decided that since we received so much love from our local community, it was time to give back. And with the July timing of National Embrace Your Geekness Day, we thought it would be a perfect opportunity to show our loved Culpeper community our true enthusiasm for digital technology, bow ties & suspenders with a digital clinic open to the Culpeper community.

The work geek can be defined as a digital-technology expert or enthusiast, but it can also refer to an intellectual who has an abundance of enthusiasm for and some expertise about a certain subject or activity. We started with a little inspiration from the great geeks of our time:

  • “I’m a geek.” Bill Gates
  • “When I was a kid, it was a huge insult to be a geek. Now it’s a point of pride in a weird way.” J. J. Abrams
  • “I am much more of a geek than I am an athlete.” Curt Schilling
  • “I didn’t have a whole lot of success getting dates. I was always a bit of a geek.” Jim Davis
  • “I’m an utterly average, total geek.” Julia Roberts

So, we put together this invitation to the community… by compiling all of the topics that we find our clients are most interested — mobile-friendliness of websites in reaction to Google’s #mobilegeddon – April algorithm update, a search engine rank check, and social media influence. We also made half hour one-on-one sessions available with our specialists for any particular questions.

And then, this happened. Best day ever!  So, perhaps we will make it an annual thing — or maybe next year around this time, we will be doing something completely different! It was a blast to join in this national holiday in this way!
