Review: Cyberbility at Culpeper Chamber Business, Industry and Education Day!

On an extremely rainy Friday August 7th morning, hundreds of local teachers from around the schools of Culpeper congregated at Culpeper County High School where the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce hosted it’s 45th Annual Business, Industry and Education Day.

Every year prior to the start of the school year, the membership of the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce are offered the opportunity to participate in this bustling event which drew many from the over 1000 employees of the Culpeper County Public School System.

As corporate level sponsors of the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce for 2015, we were proud to support this event. It’s a great way to get to know the community. The school system is the largest employer in the county, and these educators invest their days growing the minds of our county’s future leaders.

There were over 50 exhibitors in an enormous hall. It felt like millions of promotional materials were given away by the local businesses, churches, local and political entities that exhibited. It was amazing to see the steady stream of teachers each adding to overflow to the bag of promotional pens, pencils, notepads, highlighters, rulers, lanyards and business cards. Local businesses gave away gift baskets full of products. It was a day full of action.

The most valuable part of this event was ensuring the educators in our community know there is a new web development creative agency in town that invests in the community. Nothing would be more meaningful than the ripple effect of these educators expanding the horizons of the region’s future leaders to value web development, the opportunities available to students that take the time to learn to code, and hopefully, the industry growing in this region as a result.
